Tropical Turmeric Smoothie Recipe

tumeric smoothieSmoothies are fabulous!¬† Whoever invented them needs a big pat on the back. They’re a nutritious punch, portable, and they are great for people who need to get up and go.¬† Adding the right ingredients is a great way to start the day off with the vitamins, antioxidants and healthy fats to stave off the ‘hungries’ during the morning or post workout. They’re sneaky too, as they’re a great way to get good stuff into fussy kids and grown ups who aren’t eating well and eating regularly.

Green smoothies are everywhere, as are the nut milk and berry based ones. Here’s one that’s a bit new with one of the super-est of superfoods – turmeric.

Once you start researching the medicinal properties of turmeric you’ll be looking for it everywhere you go: anti inflammatory, antioxidant, improves brain function and lowers risk of brain disease, heart disease and cancer.
