Bliss Balls Recipe

Here’s a recipe that is SUPER healthy, a protein ball that does not include dates or cacao.

It’s one of Paleo Pete’s!

 

Coconut Spirulina Bliss Balls

Ingredients

  • 200gm nuts of your choice (activated if possible, see note below)
  • 20gm coconut flour
  • 5gm honey
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 40gm coconut flakes
  • 35gm chia seeds
  • 1 tablsp/10gm spirulina powder
  • 70gm coconut oil, melted
  • 100ml unhealed tahini
  • extra chia seeds to roll ( about 1/3 cup)
  • desiccated coconut to roll (about 1/3 cup)

Method

To activate nuts the quick way, place nuts in a bowl and cover with boiling water. Soak for 1 hour. Discard water and use nuts as required.

Combine extra chia seeds and coconut in a small bowl and set aside.

Place nuts, coconut flour, honey, cinnamon, coconut flakes, chia seeds, spirulina and tahini in bowl and blend for 20secs/ speed 6, or until smooth.

Scrape down sides.

Place coconut oil in a small jug and microwave for a few seconds until melted.

Set thermomix running for 30 secs/speed 4 and slowly pour oil onto lid and let it drizzle down under the MC until all ingredients are combined. Scrape down sides as required.

Transfer contents to another bowl, don your plastic food handling gloves, roll teaspoons of mixture into balls and then toss in combined chia seeds and coconut to coat.

If you find the balls crumble as you start to roll them, refrigerate the bowl of mixture for an hour and try again.

Refrigerate for at least 30 mins, and enjoy them chilled.
